The series of AIA webinars is geared towards critically addressing issues of teaching race, diversity and inclusion to promote equity in archaeology, classics, ancient history, museums, and cultural heritage. They are designed to be particularly useful for educators seeking to implement concrete strategies for creating a more inclusive classroom.
The panel 鈥淭eaching Race and Material Culture in the Ancient Mediterranean鈥 draws together a panel of scholars with expertise in creating inclusive classrooms and museum workspaces. The panel will focus on pedagogical strategies for teaching race and material culture in the ancient Mediterranean. Maggie Beeler has taught the class 鈥Race in the Ancient Mediterranean鈥 at Temple University every semester since Fall 2017.
